Tiit Land

Tiit Land is the rector of Tallinn University of Technology. He graduated from the University of Tartu in 1989 with a degree in chemistry and defended his doctoral dissertation in neurochemistry and neurotoxicology at Stockholm University in 1994. After earning his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral fellow and researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1994 to 1999, and from 1999 to 2006 as a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Neurochemistry at Stockholm University. In 2007, he was appointed professor of chemistry at Tallinn University. In 2011, he was elected rector of Tallinn University, a position he held from 2016—following his re-election—until the fall of 2020. He has published numerous scientific papers and supervised several doctoral dissertations.
